That gelatinous mass you feel coming to life inside you found its way into your body 24 hours earlier, when you swallowed a pill that looked unremarkable, save for its bulk.

Robots are after your boss’ job

Managers spend much of their day working on tasks that robots will do better in the future, according to a survey released Wednesday by Accenture Strategy, the strategy arm of the global professional services company.

More than 8 in 10 managers say they spend a significant part of their day planning and coordinating work, 65% solving problems and related tasks, 52% monitoring and reporting performance and 45% analyzing and sharing information, according to the survey, which questioned 1,700 managers across 17 industries.

Open AI: Tech giants pledge $1 billion to stop evil robots

Elon Musk and a set of other tech giants have launched a $1 billion fund to try and make robots that won’t kill humanity.

Mr Musk has repeatedly warned about the dangers of artificial intelligence, calling them the biggest threat to humanity. A range of other famous scientists and technologists have warned about the same, including Stephen Hawking.

The newly-launched company is called OpenAI and will make use of huge sets of data to build artificially intelligent robots that don’t end up killing humans.

China wants robots to replace millions of low-paid workers

China is laying the groundwork for a robot revolution by planning to automate the work currently done by millions of low-paid workers.

The government’s plan will be crucial to a broader effort to reform China’s economy while also meeting the ambitious production goals laid out in its latest economic blueprint, which aims to double per capita income by 2020 from 2016 levels with at least 6.5% annual growth. The success of this effort could, in turn, affect the vitality of the global economy.

In what sounds like a plot from a science fiction blockbuster, tech company Humai are working on human resurrection through artificial intelligence.

They’re hopeful that the technology – bionics, nanotechnology and artificial intelligence – will be ready in just three decades.

Russian Defense Ministry: Su-24 Never Entered Turkish Airspace

While authorities in Ankara have insisted that it shot down the Russian Su-24 bomber after the aircraft entered Turkish airspace, the Russian Defense Ministry has released video proving that the plane never left Syrian airspace.

According to a leaked letter written to the UN Security Council by the Turkish Ambassador, Turkey’s military justified the shooting down of a Russian bomber by claiming that the aircraft had entered Turkish airspace for 17 seconds.

Billionaire: AI could put workers ‘out to pasture’

In the not-too-distant future, humans in the workplace could go the way of the horse-and-buggy because of the “exponential growth of artificial intelligence,” billionaire Jeff Greene said Thursday.

“When we first had the internal combustion engine — the horseless carriages, the car was called — look at all the horses they just put out to pasture,” he said, making an ominous comparison to the present-day advances in automation. “We are going to be destroying jobs at a record clip.”
